I like it
I got the G5 in 2017, a year after it launched and after the G6 came out. So I got it at less than half it’s original retail price in an excess inventory sale. I’m not a fan of buying the newest flagship phone when it comes out for six or seven hundred bucks anymore. It’s too expensive for something that can break relatively easily. But last year’s model at closeout prices is a great deal on this phone. Spec wise it’s just as good as the G6 for normal everyday use. While the G6 is technically ‘better’ you’re not going to notice the improvements for calls, texts, simple games, email, etc. (Plus I don’t like the super tall screen they put on the G6 and Galaxy S8. The top and bottom go unused and stay black on many apps that aren’t formatted for the funky screen shape)
I received the phone a few days ago. I really enjoy it. My only issue was that the phone wasn’t activating with my son. I have MetroPCS, and they kept giving me an error (Data/Call services blocked). After some digging I found someone online who had a similar issue with a different carrier and by resetting network settings on the phone, it was able to activate correctly.
Cost Effective Upgrade
I bought this phone as a replacement for a Nexus 5X (also made by LG) phone I’ve had for close to two years. I usually prefer Google’s phones because they are unlocked, get updates quick, and have only the standard Android apps to start out. This one is tied to T-Mobile but was cheaper than the unlocked version and I don’t foresee changing my service provider. Also, Google has moved its Pixel phones upmarket so LG’s previous flagship (before the G6) suits me fine.
LG G5 new but was in an open LG box.
Not a bad older phone and with Android 7 is just a capable phone
Replacement phone for my dad, but a major step up from what he is used to using. Coming from an Asus Zenfone 2, the metal finish and better screen is a major plus. Size and weight is great. I chose this phone for the price and because since the update to Android 7, is a way different phone than when it first launched.
I’m in love with this phone
I’m in love with this phone. I upgraded from G4 to G5, and this phone is much nicer design wise. It has a bunch of cool features, and a fast processor. Everything you’ll ever need in one phone.
You’ll love it!
Really great phone. Came in perfect condition. Very happy with my purchase. Using it in 2018 got it for Christmas and it was a wonderful decision. Not too big of a phone and takes amazing pictures. Easy to use and fun to personalize. I have T-Mobile you have to have the super tiny sim card and there’s a slot for an sd card as well for extra storage. I love the fact that the battery is removable; I tend to wear them out really fast by keeping the phone plugged into the charger when not necessary, therefore makes my life easy to just order a battery when needed.
